Building for Our Family of Faith
January 13/14 marked the kick-off of our capital campaign. Thanks to everyone who helped with the weekend as we shared the newest renderings and video created by architects Dahlquist & Lutzow. Special thanks to the CCW for providing the hospitality.
Next Steps
Everyone will be invited to attend a campaign informational event over the coming weeks and months. These short meetings provide parishioners with detailed information on the project and goals, along with the opportunity to ask questions in a smaller group setting. Please keep an eye out in your mail for an invitation to one of the information events. If you are unable to attend on the date indicated on your invitation, we can schedule you for another meeting. If you would like to RSVP for one of the informational events listed below, please call Colette in the parish office at (630) 834-6700.
What happens if I can't make it to an informational event? All parishioners not able to attend an event will be invited to pick up a campaign packet after Masses on the weekend of March 17-18. This folder succinctly details the needs and the project along with a letter of intent and Naming Opportunities. You will be able to take the packet home and read it at your convenience.
With a commitment from everyone (no gift is too small), we will be able to reach our challenge goal! Thank you for taking the time to learn about this project and how you can invest in the future of our parish family of faith!

What do you think?
Last fall, Visitation Parish’s Capital Campaign Preparation Phase engaged over 500 households in a needs assessment process. Parishioners had the opportunity to offer their opinions on the strengths and challenges at Visitation, prioritize proposed capital improvements and share suggestions on what facilities our parish campus will need in the years to come.
During the summer, our Master Plan architects, Dahlquist and Lutzow, Ltd., were busy reviewing the findings of our parish needs assessment. They studied the blueprints of our buildings and the results of past building studies done by our Administration Commission. They met with parish staff members, the heads of various parish groups and ministries and the Building Task Force to receive their input as to the physical needs of our parish now and in the future.
The architects, in collaboration with our Building Task Force, have taken this information and prepared two different Master Plan proposals for our campus facilities. Now we need the further input of parishioners to help determine which direction our parish building project should follow.
From September 19–30, there will be several opportunities to learn about these proposals and give your suggestions. We hope you will take the time to review the plans and indicate your preference. Both plans are impressive and have great potential.
Dates to Provide Feedback
Once we receive the input from parishioners, our architects will finalize our Master Plan by mid-October. The actual campaign to provide funding for this capital project will begin October 21 and 22, 2006. At that time, all registered families will receive their own packet of campaign materials, complete with project costs and benefits, building design and layout, memorial opportunities, a list of frequently asked questions with their respective answers and much more.
Parishioners will also have the opportunity to learn firsthand about the campaign via town hall meetings, small home events or a personal visit with Fr. Siegel. Invitations for these events will be mailed late fall, so please watch your mailbox. If you have further questions, or wish to volunteer your time in support of the campaign, please contact the rectory at 630-834-6700.
Volunteer Your Time and Talent
Are you willing to host a capital campaign informational event in your home? Want to help deliver campaign materials or assist with follow-up phone calls? Many generous members have already volunteered during the prep phase to get involved. We hope you will join us—all are welcome! To get involved with a project big or small, please contact the rectory at 630-834-6700. Please pray for the success of our building campaign.

Over the past month, our Master Plan architects, Dahlquist and Lutzow, Ltd, have been busy reviewing the findings of our parish needs assessment, studying the blueprints of our buildings and going over the results of past building studies done by our Administration Commission. They have also begun series of meetings with parish staff members, the heads of various parish groups and ministries and the Building Task Force to receive their input as to the physical needs of our parish. Their engineers have started going through our current facilities to prepare a thorough analysis of their status and future maintenance needs. By late August, they hope to be able to present to the parish some concept drawings that would give us various options for renovation and new construction to answer the space needs of the parish. Our goal is to have a final Master Plan prepared by the end of September.
At the same time as the Master Plan is being formulated, we are moving forward to prepare for a Capital Campaign. We hope to form the leadership committees by the end of the summer. If you would be interested in working on the campaign, be sure to contact Fr. Siegel at the rectory.
< Please keep our planning process in your prayers as we move forward on this effort to provide the facilities needed by our parish to continue to grow and flourish.
